About CLCGA

in 1912 Ladies’ Cornwall Golf Union was set up to act as a central authority for determining all questions which may arise – and to promote the welfare and interests of the ladies’ amateur game.

OBJECTIVE :

the promotion of the amateur game and the maintenance of the traditions and rules of the game as defined by the Royal and Ancient Golf Club.

HANDICAPS:

The County Handicap Advisor is responsible for advising clubs on administering the CONGU handicap scheme.

COURSE RATING:

We maintain course standard scratch scores in line with the USGA course rating system.

JUNIORS:

Golf coaching is central to developing, sustaining and increasing participation in the sport. Coaching also improves performances, which result in greater success.

COMPETITIONS:

the Association runs the County Championships and other County meetings, as well as the league. County teams, juniors and veterans compete against teams from the South West area

REPRESENTATION:

Cornwall liaises with the English Women's Golf Association (EWGA) on matters relevant to area authority

PARTNERSHIP:

Cornwall County Golf Partnership has been created, which aims to access various external funding sources in order to increase participation in playing golf within the County.
