EWGA organises various handicap events every year to add value to your home competitions.

All handicap events run by EWGA are available to members of EWGA affiliated golf clubs with a recognised CONGU handicap.

Following the merger of EWGA and EGU a single Handicapping and Course Rating committee has been established.

 


The EWGA medal

A national competition run in association with your club medals. Up to 24 EWGA Medals can be played in any affiliated club in the year with a single winner.

The 100 players returning the lowest aggregate differential of four net scores in relation to the LGU/USGA standard scratch score of the course will qualify for a regional medal final.

The finals are annual competitions open to the winners of the EWGA medals in clubs affiliated to EWGA. There are six regional finals with a maximum of 100 players in each one. The top ten scores in each regional final shall qualify for the grand final.

Rose Spoon

In the months of April to October inclusive a silver spoon will be given each month for the best net score in England in any stroke competition. The competition is open to all players with CONGU handicap.

Australian Spoons

This competition is a stableford foursomes tournament for those with handicaps 15-36. Rule 8 deals with club qualifying competitions - closing date of entry for qualifying pairs is Wed 19th June.

2013 the SW Regional Final of the Australian Spoons is being held at Launceston on Wed 24th July 2013 and it would be great if we had a really good entry from Cornish Clubs.

The best club pairs can go forward to regional and national finals and the overall winners will be awarded a pair of silver spoons presented by the Australian Ladies’ Golf Union.
